The City of Bloomington prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, and finance.

If you believe that you have been discriminated against in employment, housing, public accommodation or in financing because of your race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information- you can file a Charge of Discrimination.

Protection against unlawful discrimination is found in the Bloomington City Ordinance, Chapter 22.2.  The  Bloomington Human Relations Commission is authorized to take the action if the alleged unlawful discrimination occurred within the corporate limits of the City of Bloomington, Illinois.

A complaint must be filed no later than 180 days after the date of the last alleged occurrence of a discriminatory practice or act or 180 days after the date of discovery of an alleged discriminatory practice or act, whichever is later.
