Updated: 10/18/24
Overview
The Meadowbrook Subdivision was built in the early 1950s and has 183 single-family homes. It’s located on the City’s southeast side and is bound by Lincoln Street to the north and McGregor Street to the west. The subdivision often suffers from poor water quality due to loss of chlorine residual which can be attributed to nitrification in the unlined water main.
The water main replacement portion of the project will upgrade the water distribution infrastructure and improve system reliability, fire protection, water quality, and pressure. The project will also include improvements to pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, ramps, sanitary sewer, and inlets, including street resurfacing, which will be constructed concurrently with the water main improvements.

Project Description
The project intends to replace approximately 6,800 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron water mains within the development on Meadowbrook Drive, Lafayette Street, Magnolia Drive, and Conley Circle with 8-inch ductile iron pipe. 6-inch and 12-inch water mains located within McGregor Street will be replaced. Additionally, the 6-inch service line along the north side of Lincoln Street will be abandoned in place, and water line services will be changed over to the adjacent 12-inch main. All water service lines will be replaced from the water main to the water meter located inside each home.
