Step One – Online Application and Exam
Apply on our website by clicking the link above. A copy of your Paramedic License or Proof of enrollment are required to be uploaded with application. DD-214 is required for Military points. College transcripts are required for Education points.
Sign up for an exam through National Testing Network (NTN). National Testing Network directly contracts with public safety departments across the country to test candidates for jobs. Once a candidate completes this simple process, information and test scores will be sent directly to each department. You can get more information about their site here. *NTN is now offering virtual testing. Due to COVID-19, testing availability may be limited.
You will be tested on 4 areas (Human Relations, Mechanical, Math and Reading) and must pass each area. Scores will be available to view in your NTN account within 2-3 days.
Human Relations - 70 or above
Mechanical - 70 or above
Math - 70 or above
Reading - 70 or above
The online exam is 70% of your final score. Applicants will be ranked by the order of their test score. In addition, applicants may receive 5 Veterans preference points in accordance with statutory requirements. Applicants will also be eligible for 5 points for a Fire Science or Emergency Medical Services Associates degree or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject, Paramedic license, PHRN, EHPR, ARPN.
