Effective July 1, 2024, the City of Bloomington is offering the following water and sewer leak and external line coverage protections to residential customers via a third-party insurance provider:

Leak Protection:  Residents can get leak coverage of up to $2,500 per occurrence at the cost of $.85 per month.  If elected, this coverage will be included in the resident’s monthly City utility bill.  For more information, please call 309-585-3671 or Click Here.

Water Line Protection - Exterior Water Service Line Coverage - From the meter and/or curb box to the main shut-off valve inside the home.  (Residential $5.25/month)

• Covers repair or necessary replacement of a cracked or broken water line up to $8,500. No deductible. No annual limit.
• Provides Water Line Protection from the utility water curb stop to the foundation of your home.
• Does not provide protection for: water meter, water pit, water vault, pumps, valves, or back-flow assemblies.
• Monthly costs will be billed directly by SLWA.

Sewer Lateral Protection - Exterior Sewer/Septic Line Coverage - From the external wall of the home to the sewer main.  (Residential $7.25/month)

• Covers repair or necessary replacement of a cracked or broken sewer line up to $8,500. No deductible. No annual limit.
• Provides Sewer Lateral Protection from the utility sewer main, including the connection, to the foundation of your home.
• Monthly costs will be billed directly by SLWA.
