City-Owned Property

The Economic Development Division is responsible for the marketing and sale of city-owned real estate that has been designated for redevelopment.

Please note that all sales must be approved by the City Council before being considered final.

The following city-owned property is currently for sale:

  • 408 E. Washington Street

0.94 acre former Coachman Motel in-fill redevelopment site on the east edge of Downtown Bloomington.  This site is located on a bus route and within walking distance to all Downtown amenities, including the Grossinger Motors Arena and the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. The site is located in the Downtown East Washington TIF District and in the Bloomington-Normal-McLean County Enterprise Zone.

Project Proposals are being accepted directly by the City of Bloomington Economic Development Division.

Route 51 / Historic Route 66. The site is located in a potential TIF District and in the Bloomington-Normal-McLean County Enterprise Zone.

Online Auctions

The City of Bloomington posts online auctions for the disposal of surplus assets. Future auctions may include surplus equipment, vehicles, furniture, and other goods and materials. Below are the links to the different online auction websites utilized by the City.  All online auctions are advertised in the local paper ten (10) business days before the auction begins.  It is recommended that interested parties check these websites weekly or reference the local paper legal advertising section.  The City of Bloomington’s Terms and Conditions are clearly stated on each online auction website.
